Lesnevan, the military capital of Pays de Léon during the Middle Ages, was also, under the Old Order, the headquarters of an important court of law (sénéchaussée).
Its fortified castle no longer exists however the town has conserved a number of elegant 15th and 18th century houses that can be admired from Place Le Flo and Place Foch. Saint Michel church has conserved its Renaissance style porch, a listed historic monument, as well as statues and organs, also listed monuments.
The town of Folgoët located two kilometress from Lesneven town centre, boasts a magnificent Basilica, Notre Dame, a remarkable 15th century Gothic building.
